Opinion: West Ham’s Scamacca plan could help Newcastle sign Broja

West Ham could be about to help Newcastle United’s bid to sign Armando Broja this summer.

Both sides are interested in snapping up the Chelsea youngster, who is now set to link up with Thomas Tuchel’s side in America after no significant movement regarding a transfer.

However, it still feels inevitable that he will leave Chelsea before the window closes, whether that’s permanent or on loan. Although it has been reported that Broja doesn’t fancy another temporary switch.

A loan with an option to buy would appeal to Newcastle, who are trying to juggle their remaining transfer budget to bring in a striker and a winger.

They face competition to sign the 20-year-old, but what West Ham are about to do might give them a boost.

West Ham step up bid to sign Gianluca Scamacca

David Moyes is desperate to sign a striker this summer, and is trying to bring in Gianluca Scamacca.

He’s been linked with a move to Newcastle, but the Hammers are now stepping up their interest. The Guardian report that they are in talks with Sassuolo.

PSG are also interested in the 23-year-old who could cost as much as £42million. He would be a huge signing for West Ham, and a deal that could end their pursuit of Broja.

That could help Newcastle land Broja

If West Ham sign Scamacca, they probably aren’t going to need Broja. That means one less club for Newcastle to compete with.

Everton are another side that are interested, but the Magpies will surely fancy their chances at winning that race. The lure of being reunited with Frank Lampard might be an issue, but St James’ Park is a much better place to be right now.

Newcastle have been linked with plenty of strikers this summer. The current talk of the town is Alexander Isak, who could become a club record signing.

However, Newcastle still need a winger, and that’s where most of their money should go. That’s why Broja, who has been described as ‘devastating‘, feels like the perfect striker addition.

He’s one for the future but has already proved he can succeed in the Premier League, and it would be perfect if we can sign him on loan with an option to buy next year.

If West Ham are going all in for Scamacca, it should help our bid to sign Broja. So good luck to the Hammers!
