AC Milan will hope Newcastle launch £58m Lucas Paqueta bid

Many Newcastle fans will hope the Magpies make a fresh bid to sign Lucas Paqueta this summer.

Amanda Staveley and co made a £34million offer for the Brazilian midfielder. However, it was rejected by Lyon.

Newcastle did eventually pay Lyon a big load of cash for a Samba star, but it was Paqueta’s best friend Bruno Guimaraes instead.

The pair struck up a brilliant friendship in France, but were split up in January when Bruno moved to St James’ Park.

A lot of fans are hoping Newcastle reunite the duo when the transfer window opens. And AC Milan probably feel the same.

Newcastle signing Lucas Paqueta would give AC Milan a financial boost

Before Paqueta was a Lyon player, he represented AC Milan. The Italians gave him his move to Europe, signing him in 2019 from Flamengo.

He left the San Siro in the summer of 2020, moving to Lyon for €20million. However, the deal reportedly included a sell on clause.

According to Milan Live, I Rossoneri will receive 20% of the fee Lyon get for the 24-year-old – if they decide to sell, of course.

The Chronicle recently reported that Lyon want £58million for Paqueta. That would break Newcastle’s transfer record, but it’s a deal that would make Bruno very happy.

It would also please Milan, who would receive £11.6million. That’s why they’ll hope PIF make a fresh move to sign the Brazil international.
