When Newcastle United signed Anthony Gordon, it led to an awkward reunion with Fabian Schar.
The Magpies brought Anthony Gordon to the club in January 2023, at a time when a lot of fans were unsure about the winger.
He had angered the Toon Army on multiple occasions, while he had got himself involved in a few skirmishes with Eddie Howe’s players.
When he was still an Everton player, we saw Gordon go head-to-head with multiple Newcastle United players as tempers flared. It led to some supporters questioning Gordon’s attitude when he arrived, but all it pointed to was the kind of passion and desire that would see him thrive in black and white.
Gordon and Schar started last season clashing at St James’ Park, but they ended it as teammates.
And now another player has ‘done an Anthony Gordon’ at a time when the Magpies are looking for reinforcements.

Morgan Gibbs-White did an Anthony Gordon against Newcastle on Saturday
During the January transfer window, Newcastle United tried to sign Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Nottingham Forest star was linked with a move to St James’ Park, and it is a deal that would have delighted the Toon Army. He is an outstanding footballer, and someone who would have really improved Eddie Howe’s squad.
Hopefully he is on Newcastle’s radar in the summer, and if he does arrive it could lead to an awkward reunion with Sven Botman.
That is because Botman and Gibbs-White were involved in an altercation at the City Ground on Saturday night. The duo were involved in a pushing match in the second half, which resulted in the Dutchman and the £42.5million player receiving a yellow card.
Obviously the clash does not hint towards a transfer, but it would be amazing if the altercation could lead to Gibbs-White becoming teammates with Botman, just like it did with Gordon and Schar.
