Yankuba Minteh has just won an award at Feyenoord as Newcastle youngster continues to impress

Yankuba Minteh is continuing to prove why he has an incredibly bright future with Newcastle United during his loan spell at Feyenoord.

The 19-year-old has been with the Eredivisie side all season, with Newcastle United sending Yankuba Minteh to Feyenoord immediately after signing him for £6million.

Sending him to Rotterdam was a real show of faith in his ability, and Minteh has proven that he is more than good enough to represent the Dutch side.

The winger has really developed as a player, much to the delight of Newcastle United. However, there is an awareness that he still has a long way to go before reaching his full potential.

But Minteh is currently enjoying a brilliant run in the Feyenoord team, scoring four goals and providing one assist in his previous four Eredivisie games.

Two of those goals came in a 2-0 win over Almere City, one of which has resulted in Minteh picking up an award.

Yankuba Minteh wins Feyenoord goal of the month award

Feyenoord have announced their winner of February’s goal of the month award.

It has gone to Minteh for his first goal of the game. He gave Feyenoord the lead with a stunning strike, drifting in from the right flank to curl a looping shot with his left foot beyond the the Almere City goalkeeper.

It was a really impressive strike from the teenager, although there were suggestions that it was a cross immediately after. However, Minteh was quick to reinforce that he really was shooting.

Now he has been given an award for his strike, and he will hope to score many more goals before his Feyenoord loan spell comes to an end. The Gambia international has found the net eight times so far, and has three assists.

Newcastle will take a look at Yankuba Minteh this summer

Minteh is doing very well during his loan spell, which is why Newcastle United are going to take a close look at him during pre-season.

Feyenoord would like to re-sign him on loan, but there are no guarantees that he will be sent out again. Eddie Howe might decide that Minteh has a role to play at St James’ Park, which would give him the chance to achieve his dream of playing in the Premier League.

It is going to be a very exciting summer for Minteh, who is currently doing all he can to prove to Newcastle that he is ready to make an impression on Tyneside. The club will assess him when pre-season begins, and it would be a real show of faith if he is given the chance to play for the first team.
