It is going to be a big few months for Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh.

The 19-year-old is really turning heads with his performances in the Eredivisie, having joined Feyenoord on loan immediately after signing for Newcastle United last summer.

Yankuba Minteh has scored three goals in his last two games for Feyenoord, and now has 10 goal contributions for the Rotterdam club. He is doing very well at such a young age, and the Magpies are happy with his progress.

So are Toon fans, many of which want to see him in Eddie Howe’s first-team next season. He is seen as an ideal replacement for Miguel Almiron, who Minteh has actually compared himself to in the past due to both players possessing incredible speed.

Newcastle supporters might just get there wish, with HITC Football insider Graeme Bailey recently suggesting that Howe is going to give Minteh a chance to prove himself in pre-season.

However, Feyenoord have a different idea.

Feyenoord want to loan Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle United again

According to iNews, Feyenoord would like to re-sign Minteh and loan him for a second consecutive season. iNews also state that the teenager could have interest from clubs in the Championship.

The fact that Feyenoord want him back is a testament to his ability and his efforts in red and white.

It was a big move for Minteh. Just like Newcastle, Feyenoord were competing in the Champions League earlier this season. But the Gambia international got the chance to play for Arne Slot’s side, and he has taken it.

Of course, he is far from the finished article. Minteh remains very rough around the edges, which is why a second loan spell could be good for his development.

And if he is to go out on loan, another stint with Feyenoord could be absolutely perfect. He has already shown signs of improvement during his time there, and Newcastle know that he will get the minutes he needs.

But it will likely all depend on what happens at Newcastle this summer. If they sign another winger and Minteh’s potential minutes will be hindered then another loan move is for the best. But if he impresses Howe enough in pre-season then a Premier League debut in black and white might not be far away.
