Newcastle United officials are hoping they have struck gold when it comes to Yankuba Minteh.
The teenager signed for Newcastle United last summer, with Dan Ashworth bringing the Gambian to Tyneside from Danish club Odense BK.
Yankuba Minteh was immediately loaned out to Feyenoord, and has been doing very well in Rotterdam. The 19-year-old now has 10 goal contributions in all competitions, and has scored three times in his previous two games.
He has the potential to keep getting better, and Newcastle are seemingly very happy with his development. As are Feyenoord, as they want him back on loan again next season.
Whether that happens remains to be seen, as there have been suggestions that the Magpies are going to keep him in the first-team.
That is what fans want, as they are very excited by Minteh’s ability. However, supporters must remember that he is far from the finished article.

Where Yankuba Minteh needs to improve
According to the Chronicle, people close to Minteh are well aware that he has a lot of work to do to take his game to the next level.
The Chronicle add that those people also know that the winger needs to work on his end product, which is a criticism he has received during his loan spell with Feyenoord.
While his end product will define his Newcastle United career, there should be no concern over his need to improve. It is just part of his natural development as a footballer, and the potential is certainly there for him to make those improvements.
Minteh has joined Newcastle to improve as a player, and he will have confidence in that happening – particularly when it comes to being decisive in the final third.
Take Anthony Gordon, for example. He is suddenly much more ruthless, and you can no longer question his end product. But it was clearly an area he needed to improve in when he signed for the club just over a year ago.
Minteh will be keen to follow in his footsteps, while he has already likened himself to Miguel Almiron because of his speed.
The youngster has the raw tools to be a success on Tyneside, and it is going to be exciting to see what he is moulded into in the coming years.
