Newcastle United are not the only team with injury problems ahead of Saturday’s game against Wolves.

It was confirmed on Friday morning that Yoane Wissa will miss the Wolves game through injury. The 29-year-old had been expected to make his Toon debut, but he has been ruled out with a knee problem.

Elsewhere, Jacob Ramsey is injured too. His ankle issue could keep him out of action until after the next international break.

It is a double injury blow for Newcastle United, while Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has a major problem of his own.

Jorgen Strand Larsen to miss Newcastle United vs Wolves

It will be the tale of two missing strikers at St James’ Park on Saturday, as Yoane Wissa is not the only number nine who will be absent.

Ahead of Newcastle United vs Wolves, Vitor Pereira has spoken to the media. He has provided an injury update on Jorgen Strand Larsen, who missed the previous game against Everton before pulling out of the Norway squad.

Unfortunately for Wolves, the 25-year-old will not be involved against Newcastle.

“We are without Larsen,” Pereira said.

“The injury was a bit more serious and he’s trying to come back. We want him back as soon as possible, but he’s not training yet.”

Jorgen Strand Larsen misses the chance to send Newcastle United a message

Strand Larsen’s absence is even more interesting due to the fact that Newcastle United had been trying to sign him.

Multiple offers were made, while Strand Larsen did want to join Newcastle and work with Eddie Howe.

However, Wolves would not sell Strand Larsen. In turn, the Magpies were able to secure Yoane Wissa’s signature.

But with the 29-year-old injured, this would have been a great chance for Strand Larsen to show Newcastle what they could have won. Alas, he is injured too.

With the Norwegian striker ruled out, Wolves could hand a debut to Tolu Arokodare. He moved to Molineux on transfer deadline day, arriving from Genk for £24million.
