Newcastle United midfielder Jacob Ramsey is set for a month on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during the international break.
Having signed for a fee of around £43m during the summer transfer window, fans were very excited to see what Jacob Ramsey could deliver for Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old impressed after coming off the bench against Liverpool and earned his first start for the Magpies against Leeds United.
However, Ramsey was taken off at half-time after suffering an ankle injury after being on the receiving end of a strong tackle from none other than former Newcastle man Sean Longstaff.
The tackle was not malicious by any means, but it was enough to inflict lasting damage on Ramsey, who is now set to miss the next month of action.

What Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe said about Jacob Ramsey’s injury
Ramsey’s injury comes at a pretty poor time for Newcastle, who have several important games on the horizon, including the upcoming Champions League clash against Barcelona.
Thankfully, the Newcastle manager confirmed that Joelinton is fit and ready to play after missing the Leeds clash two weeks ago.
Ramsey was seen taking part in Newcastle training earlier this week, giving fans hope that the player would indeed be involved for the game, but Howe has since confirmed that will not be the case.
“Jacob is our only other injury concern, and he’ll miss the game,” he said.
“He’s suffered from that tackle against Leeds, his ankle swelled up at half-time and he had to come off.
“Unfortunately, I think he’ll be missing until the next international break so that’s a big blow.”
Newcastle United fans blame Sean Longstaff for Jacob Ramsey’s injury
Ramsey has a rather worrying injury history, missing 10 games last season with muscle and hamstring issues. The Englishman missed a staggering 36 games last season with four separate injuries.
After his ankle problem two weeks ago, Ramsey could miss as many as seven games in the next month, including two Champions League clashes.
With his injury setback confirmed, Newcastle fans have pointed the finger at former Toon man Longstaff, who put in the tackle which started his problems off.
“God I hate Longstaff,” said one fan, while another added: “Cheers Sean.”
This Newcastle fan was in sheer disbelief, saying: “Longstaff tackled and injured the longstaff replacement. PL writers are undisputed.”
“Longstaff tackle in the Leeds game, doing in Ramsey’s ankle. Cheers Sean,” said this annoyed Newcastle fan.
Another fan added: “Of all people, Sean Longstaff has only injured his replacement, so Newcastle.”
Finally, this fan said: “Jacob Ramsey out for a month, imagine my shock.”
