Latest update on Callum Wilson injury news

As has been tradition under Eddie Howe, Newcastle capped off their win on Saturday with a dressing room photo. Fans noticed that many of the injured players were included, but Callum Wilson was absent.

Wilson is still yet to appear for Newcastle this season and it was confirmed that he would miss the Arsenal match after his injury problems continued.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash against Arsenal, Howe issued an update on Wilson’s injury, revealing that he will now be out until the November international break.

Howe said: “Callum is doing okay, he’s building his load again.

“There was no real injury but just a feeling in his body that he couldn’t push as hard as he wanted. We’ll see how he is but probably with the two-week gap [the international break] it’s best to leave it.”

Newcastle send Callum Wilson to injury specialists in Middle East

Newcastle desperately need Wilson back fit so they can ease the pressure and responsibility on Isak’s shoulders.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle have sent Wilson to the Middle East to the famous Aspetar hospital in the latest step of his recovery process.

The report adds that stars such as Neymar, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland have all attended the hospital previously to recover from injury setbacks.

It explains why Wilson was not present in the Newcastle squad photo, with the 32-year-old instead watching his teammates beat Arsenal from Doha, Qatar.

Neymar was full of praise for the staff at Aspetar during his time at the hospital, he said: “At Aspetar, I was surrounded by the best.”
