Conor McGregor looked deflated at St James’ Park after watching Arsenal lose 1-0 to Newcastle United.
The 36-year-old UFC star was in Newcastle for a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship on Saturday and took the opportunity to attend Newcastle United vs Arsenal.
In early October, Conor McGregor made headlines after being “asked to leave” the pitch at the Emirates Stadium after play-fighting with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.
Despite previously claiming he is a Manchester United fan, McGregor attended St James’ Park to watch Arsenal, and Newcastle took their opportunity to poke fun at him after Saturday’s 1-0 win over the Gunners.
Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the game as Eddie Howe‘s side made it two wins on the bounce while derailing Arsenal’s title charge.

Newcastle post mocks Conor McGregor at St James’ Park
Arsenal headed to Tyneside on Saturday needing a win to keep pace in the Premier League title race but Mikel Arteta’s side were dominated at St James’ Park.
Sean Longstaff was “magnificent” vs Arsenal, while Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento silenced their critics with superb performances on either side of the defence. It was a statement performance from Newcastle, and it wiped the smile off McGregor’s face.
After the full-time whistle, Newcastle posted photos of McGregor to Instagram revealing his emotions before and after watching Arsenal lose.
Newcastle captioned the post: “How it started vs how it’s going… Hope you enjoyed your trip to St. James’ Park, @thenotoriousmma 😘”
The club then quoted McGregor’s iconic quote with a 14-word comment: “On this post, we’d like to take this chance to apologise… to absolutely nobody”.
Newcastle returning to their best after Arsenal win
That was much more like it from Arsenal. In a week of challenging fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea – Newcastle have stepped up.
It was make or break for Howe after an underwhelming start to the season, but he rallied his side and has got the season back on track.

Newcastle have now jumped to ninth in the Premier League table and are just three points off the top four – with Arsenal fourth on 18 points after Saturday’s result.
Goals had been an issue for Newcastle but it seems Alexander Isak is returning to form after scoring his fourth of the season with a superbly-taken header.
