Newcastle United have revealed plans to renovate and expand their training ground.
Ever since the PIF takeover in 2021, there has been a focus shift towards improving the infrastructure surrounding Newcastle United.
Talk of building a new 68,000-seater stadium continues in the background, with PIF expected to finalise and announce a decision shortly.
But alongside a new stadium, the Newcastle hierarchy are also keen to improve the training facilities available to Eddie Howe and his squad.

Newcastle United announce training ground plan
PIF have already given Newcastle’s training ground a makeover since taking charge of the club, but there is a desire to grow and improve the facilities available.
Ideally, Newcastle want to build a new training ground but progress on finding a suitable site has been slow.
On Tuesday, Newcastle revealed that they have submitted planning permission to extend the Darsley Park site.
The report adds that work is expected to be completed in summer 2026, ready for the start of the 2026/27 season.
Newcastle will also continue to work towards identifying a new site for a future training facility, suggesting that the long-term plan is still to move elsewhere.
What will be included in Newcastle’s training ground update?
Newcastle have confirmed that their plans include 1,350 square metres of “necessary new-build accommodation, focusing on new office and meeting space and additional support facilities.”
The building currently in use by the first-team squad will be renovated to provide extra treatment spaces and staff support areas, as well as front-of-house facilities and an enlarged players’ lounge.
The current site includes several “low quality temporary buildings” which will be removed, with staff moving into the new buildings once complete.

In terms of building a new site, Newcastle have two locations for a new training ground – near the Newcastle Racecourse, and the second is in Woolsington near Newcastle Airport.
Previous reports have claimed that Newcastle will approach Populous to design the new training facility, although plans will not be expected anytime soon given the new plans to renovate.
