Newcastle United may finally be getting a new training ground.
Ever since PIF arrived and became the Newcastle United owners, there has been talk about the club getting a new training facility.
Changes have been made to the club’s current base, which was massively out of date when the takeover went through in October 2021.
But while the Newcastle United training ground has had a makeover, the Magpies could really benefit from having something new that is purpose-built. It could go a long way towards helping the club progress, as PIF aim for the top.
Newcastle United make training ground decision

Fortunately, that now looks like it will happen.
The Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle United are going to get Populous to design their new training facility.
Populous are a major architecture firm, which sums up the club’s intent to build something that can really take them to the next level.
The report adds that Newcastle United have identified two possible sites to build the training ground on. The first is near Newcastle Racecourse, and the second is in Woolsington near Newcastle Airport. The Daily Mail state that the site near the racecourse is more likely at this stage.
When Newcastle United’s new training ground could be ready
With an architect lined up and a possible location pinpointed, Newcastle United’s training ground plans are gathering speed.
However, it will be a long time before the Toon players are training at a new facility.
The Daily Mail have been told by Newcastle sources that it will take ‘several years’ to complete the project.
Regardless of the timeframe, this is a positive development. It had been claimed that some people at Newcastle were frustrated by the training ground delay.
As the club begin to firm up their plans, Eddie Howe says he will not be involved in the training ground project.
The Newcastle United manager says it will be for other people to design, as he hopes to merely stand back and watch on in awe at what is being built.
