Almost two weeks after signing for Newcastle United, Nick Woltemade is finally getting to know his new teammates.
Soon after his £69million move to Newcastle United was confirmed, the 23-year-old went on international duty to represent Germany.
Now those international commitments are over, allowing Woltemade to train with Newcastle for the first time.
He has been at the training ground this week, as he gets set to potentially make his debut against Wolves at St James’ Park on Saturday.
There is a buzz surrounding his arrival from supporters, and that buzz extends to the Newcastle United squad.

Nick Woltemade is already making a positive impression at Newcastle United
That is according to the Athletic journalist George Caulkin, who has spoken about Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever on the latest episode of Pod On The Tyne.
Caulkin shared what people ‘inside the dressing room’ have been saying about Woltemade since his arrival.
“One of the things people inside the dressing room, around the first-team, are saying about Woltemade is that they love his attitude,” he said.
“The smile you see on his face in all the pictures is a reflection of who he is. He seems very comfortable in his own skin.
“They do not want to demand too much of him from the start. They want to ease him in.”
Yoane Wissa lifts the pressure off of Nick Woltemade at Newcastle United
Despite his relaxed nature, there is pressure on Woltemade’s shoulders. He has arrived at the club for a huge amount of money as Alexander Isak’s replacement.
There will be a lot of eyes on him when he makes his Newcastle debut, especially on the back of a challenging international break. Woltemade’s Germany performances were criticised, but now he can focus on his club commitments.
Fortunately for him, Newcastle signing Yoane Wissa means there is less pressure on the giant German. In Wissa, the Magpies have a Premier League proven striker who looks poised to hit the ground running in black and white.

In turn, that will give Woltemade the time he needs to settle in and become acclimatised to English football.
Hopefully, Howe opts to give Woltemade his debut against Wolves this weekend, but it will likely only be as a substitute. It has been reported that Wissa is expected to start, as Newcastle aim to pick up their first win of the 2025/26 season.
