Will Osula could be the biggest winner from Newcastle United’s FA Cup triumph.

The Magpies beat Bromley on Sunday, with Will Osula scoring his first ever goal for the club.

It was a fantastic strike too, and Eddie Howe was delighted for Osula. The £10million forward has had limited opportunities, while he has struggled to show his goalscoring prowess.

But now his account is open, and you could see what the goal meant during Osula’s celebration.

This will hopefully be the first of many goals in black and white for Osula, who has been making a big impression behind the scenes at Newcastle United.

What is being said about Will Osula at Newcastle

Toon fans have not seen a lot of the 21-year-old. This was just his second start since his summer move, with Howe reluctant to throw the youngster in at the deep end.

That is a smart decision, as Osula works on his game at the training ground.

According to the Telegraph, training ground sources at Newcastle United have been talking up the progress that Osula has been making behind the scenes.

That is very encouraging, and Osula showcased that progress with a fantastic goal against Bromley. He showed real confidence to take the shot on, and it resulted in his first ever Newcastle United goal.

Another FA Cup opportunity on the horizon for Will Osula

As was the case with Lewis Hall last season, Howe is not just going to play Osula for the sake of it. He will use him when he feels he is ready.

That is probably why Howe did not play Osula against Tottenham or Arsenal, despite the Toon boss having to withdraw Alexander Isak. They were high pressure matches in which Newcastle were defending, which resulted in Howe opting against putting Osula on. That may have looked harsh, but Howe is looking at the bigger picture.

Osula’s work is being done away from the spotlight, but the FA Cup could soon present the Danish striker with another opportunity.

Newcastle United will play Birmingham City in the fourth round, and that should result in Osula starting once again.
