Alexander Isak has already been talking to Anthony Elanga about a potential transfer to Newcastle United.
As was the case in the summer of 2024, Elanga is a Newcastle United transfer target.
Newcastle have made a move to sign Elanga from Forest, although the City Ground side are in a strong position to command a big fee. He has three years left on his contract and they have just qualified for Europe.
Elanga has responded to Newcastle’s interest by insisting he’s not thinking about his future right now.
Still, Elanga was keen to join Newcastle in 2024 and the idea of teaming up with Isak at club level must be exciting.
Indeed, it seems the Newcastle star has already previously been on the case.

Anthony Elanga’s private message to Alexander Isak about joining Newcastle United
Last year, Elanga confirmed he’d spoken to Isak about joining Newcastle.
Obviously, that didn’t happen in the end but Eddie Howe is keen to finally bring him to St James’ Park this summer.
Newcastle want to sign a new forward and the Sweden star now looks to be a target again. Elanga admitted he told Isak that he had a contract to honour at Forest when speaking in private.
In 2024, Elanga said: “Isak talked to me about it. But I said the same to him as I say to you.
“We have a good relationship and good chemistry when we play together. But I have a contract with Nottingham.”

Alexander Isak’s record with Anthony Elanga as Newcastle United make transfer move
According to Transfermarkt data, the two have played 12 times together for a combined total of 308 minutes.
That does not provide a huge sample size of course but they haven’t actually linked up for a goal together yet.
| Games | Minutes Played | Joint-goal participation |
| 12 | 308 | 0 |
Still, Isak and Jacob Murphy played brilliantly together during the 2023/24 season, and there’s little reason why he couldn’t do something similar with Elanga if he joins.
The Forest star recorded 11 assists in the season just gone. Only Murphy and Mohamed Salah contributed more.
Newcastle need depth in attacking areas and signing Elanga would be a step towards providing that.
Hopefully, Elanga and Isak finally link up at club level.
