There is now a decent chance Eddie Howe makes a change at Newcastle this weekend

Newcastle United will soon be back in action.

Despite a truly underwhelming transfer window, Newcastle have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season.

Their performances may not have been wholly convincing thus far but Eddie Howe’s side are at least getting results.

If they can beat Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday, it will represent a fine start to the campaign. Howe’s side then face difficult tests against Fulham and Manchester City, so taking almost maximum points into that run would be a huge boost.

Howe has not been afraid to make changes this season. Emil Krafth replacing Fabian Schar was obviously an enforced one after the latter’s controversial red card against Southampton, though Harvey Barnes has come into the team of late.

Now, the manager is reportedly considering another one.

Indeed, Kieran Trippier could get the nod on Sunday.

Eddie Howe could start Kieran Trippier for Newcastle on Sunday

According to The Athletic, Trippier could start in place of Tino Livramento for the trip to Molineux this weekend.

Howe has been full of praise for the “technical” Trippier despite the defender being linked with a move away so often over the past few months and could make a change for Newcastle’s next outing.

The Newcastle boss is reportedly eager to give both Trippier and Livramento plenty of opportunities this season and, with the former remaining at the club’s training base over the international break, it could be his chance to impress.

Trippier is thought to have asked to leave the club this summer but increasingly looks as if he’ll stay until January at the very least.

For his part, Howe is believed to be working behind the scenes to build up rapport levels with the defender once again.

If these are to be his final few months at the club, they do not have to be a miserable experience.
