Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Brentford is one of Newcastle United’s most important games of the season so far.

Newcastle have just about kept themselves in the race for European football this season with the Magpies currently 12th in the Premier League table.
But every Newcastle supporter would prioritise a trophy over qualifying for Europe with the last major honour coming back in 1955.
Howe’s side are now just three games away from lifting the Carabao Cup – something Newcastle came agonisingly close to doing in 2023.

Less than two weeks after losing to Brentford in the Premier League, Wednesday’s cup tie is a must-win for the Magpies.
