Here are the Newcastle United players whose countries have secured their spots in the 2026 World Cup.
The October international break may have come at a frustrating time for Newcastle United, as Eddie Howe’s side were just starting to find their groove, but it was a crucial one for many nations.
The 2026 World Cup is looming on the horizon and qualifying campaigns for the historic tournament reached a crucial juncture across the world.
There have been great stories over the past week, with Cape Verde making it to a World Cup for the first time, while the Faroe Islands have a great chance of doing so as well.
Some Newcastle stars have secured their spots in next summer’s tournament in Mexico, Canada and the United States, too.

Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes – Brazil

Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton’s Brazil have had their World Cup place secured since June, ensuring their sensational record of being at every edition of the tournament continues.
As a result, new manager Carlo Ancelotti is using the international breaks to run the rule over his squad in friendlies and he wants his players to impress if they are to make the final cut next summer.
That doesn’t look like it’ll be a problem for Guimaraes, who picked up an amazing assist in a 5-0 thrashing of South Korea last week. Joelinton, meanwhile, was an unused substitute.
Anthony Gordon, Dan Burn, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall – England

England’s impeccable qualifying campaign saw them become the first European nation to seal their place in the World Cup with two games to spare in October.
Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions smashed Latvia 5-0 to ensure they qualified without even conceding a goal.
Anthony Gordon scored a stunning opener as he cut inside before finding the corner, while a Harry Kane brace, an Eberechi Eze strike and an own-goal rounded out the win.
Several Newcastle stars will be hoping to be in the squad next summer, with Gordon and Dan Burn looking certainties after becoming regulars under Tuchel.
The race will be on for Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall to get back fit and get back to their best form in plenty of time to be considered by the manager, while Nick Pope might even hope his good form earns him a recall.
