Lewis Miley will be ‘absolutely buzzing’ after scoring his first ever goal for Newcastle United.
That is the view of former Premier League player Aaron Lennon, who has been blown away by Lewis Miley in recent weeks.
The 17-year-old has been given a chance in Eddie Howe’s side due to the Magpies’ ongoing injury crisis, and he has taken it with both hands.
We have seen Miley excel in the Champions League, starting against PSG and AC Milan. He was outstanding in Paris, while he got a historic assist during the defeat to the Italian giants.
The midfielder is also excelling in the Premier League, and scored his first ever senior goal during the 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday. It was a massive goal, as it had been a frustrating afternoon for Newcastle up until that moment.
Miley already looks so comfortable in this Newcastle team, much to the delight of Aaron Lennon. He is another player who got his big break at a young age, making his Leeds United debut when he was just 16.
Lennon knows how difficult it can be as a young player coming into the team, but he has been blown away by what Miley has been doing in black and white.

Lennon has appeared on the Sky Sports podcast Retrospect, and was asked to give his thoughts on Miley’s emergence at the age of 17.
“I’ve been so impressed with him,” he said.
“For someone so young to come in there in the middle of the park. And some of these massive games. I watched him away to PSG and he was so calm. He got on the ball, he was running the game at times.
“To get his first goal would be massive for him. He will be absolutely buzzing. A local lad as well. He’s handled it amazingly.
“When you come in as a young kid, you just want to come in and do well. But you are nervous. It’s a completely different ball game to playing in the academy or the under-23s. But he’s handled it so well and I’ve been really impressed with him.”

As Lennon says, Miley has handled the situation so well. He looks unfazed by what is going on, despite all the hype that is surrounding him.
His temperament is incredible, and it has allowed him to have the composure to thrive in high pressure situations. It has been quite the baptism of fire for Miley, but the teenager has passed with flying colours.
It is becoming cliche, but you forget how young he is when you watch him. He is such a mature player, and you can already tell he is growing in confidence in the first-team.
Lennon has been majorly impressed with Miley, just like every Toon fan who has had the honour of watching him play in recent weeks.
