Newcastle United take on Brighton And Hove Albion on Saturday, who have made arguably one of the best signings of the window on transfer deadline day.
The Seagulls have announced that they have signed Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona. It is a remarkable deal and is testament to how far Brighton have come as a club.
They have managed to sign a 20-year-old wonderkid who was tipped for huge things when he burst onto the scene, and was even given Lionel Messi’s number 10 shirt when the Argentinian left Barcelona.
Now Fati has also left Barcelona, albeit temporarily. He is someone who was on Newcastle’s radar earlier in the year, and was even offered to the Magpies by his agent Jorge Mendes.
However, Fati is now a Brighton player, but he is not someone who Newcastle are going to come face-to-face with on Saturday evening.

Ansu Fati will not make his Brighton debut against Newcastle
That is because Sky Sports News have reported that Fati, as well as Danny Welbeck and new signing Carlos Baleba will miss this weekend’s game against Eddie Howe’s side.
“Danny Welbeck will miss that game with a slight muscle injury, not apparently very serious,” Sky Sports News reporter Rob Jones said.
“Also Ansu Fati and new signing Carlos Baleba will miss that game.”
Newcastle won’t have to handle Brighton’s latest signing
While there are no guarantees that Fati will shine at Brighton, we are certainly glad that he will not be making his debut against Newcastle on Saturday evening.
All of the pre-match talk would have been about the youngster, setting him up for a dream debut at the Amex.

Instead, he will likely be watching from the stands. As will Baleba, another new Brighton signing who Newcastle reportedly had their eye on.
But while Brighton are missing some of their summer acquisitions, they still have enough to cause the Magpies a lot of problems.
Even without Fati, it is going to be a very tough game for Howe’s side.
