Newcastle United are playing brilliantly this season, but Sean Longstaff believes that the Magpies are now going to get even better.
That is a terrifying thought, with Newcastle up to sixth in the Premier League and top of their Champions League group following a 4-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain.
Eddie Howe’s side are currently flying, but are about to lose Sandro Tonali to a 10-month ban that will end his season early.
However, Sean Longstaff believes that the return of Joe Willock is going to lead to Newcastle playing their best football.
Sean Longstaff is so excited to have Joe Willock back from injury
Ahead of Newcastle’s Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund, Longstaff spoke to the media. He discussed Willock’s return to fitness, and explained why he is such an important player for the Magpies.

“The big one coming back is Joe Willock,” he said.
“I could sit here all day and tell you how good he is. Even watching him in training this week, he looks like he’s not missed a minute.
“I’m really excited to have Willy back. We know how important he is for us. The team plays its best when Willy plays and he’s able to drift. No one can do what he does in our team, in terms of the way he moves with the ball and how confident he is with it.
“Really excited to have him back. Hopefully he can show what he can do on this stage as well.”
Newcastle are receiving a major boost
The 24-year-old is now back in training after a lengthy absence. He has not played for the Magpies since May, and has thanked those that helped him during his rehabilitation.
Willock is clearly a very popular player behind the scenes at St James’ Park, as Longstaff has waxed lyrical about his talents and the type of impact he can have when he starts playing again.
For Longstaff to say that no player can do what Willock can is a huge compliment, and explains why everyone is so delighted that he is finally fit again.
However, Howe will have to be careful with the former Arsenal man. It has been a long time since he has played a competitive game, and Newcastle will be desperate for him to avoid another setback.
But with Newcastle set to lose Tonali, the timing of Willock’s return could not be better. Hopefully it does not take him long to get back up to speed and re-find the form he showed last season when he was so spectacular.
