Newcastle United have been without some key players this season due to injury, but Eddie Howe’s squad is set to receive a big boost.
This has already been a memorable season for Newcastle. We have witnessed a famous win over Manchester City, a historic 8-0 drubbing of Sheffield United and that night in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.
What is even more impressive is that Newcastle have done this without some major players. Joelinton only featured in the Carabao Cup victory over Man City, while Sven Botman has been out of action with a knee injury.
But they have at least featured in some capacity this season. The same can’t be said for Joe Willock, who has not played for the Magpies since May 18th.
He suffered a hamstring injury when Newcastle played Brighton late last season, and his recovery suffered a massive setback when he later sustained an Achilles problem.

It has now been six weeks since Eddie Howe stated that Willock would be out for six weeks, which hopefully means we will see him back in action after the international break.
Regardless, Toon officials are very excited to see the 24-year-old back in action.
Newcastle eager to see Joe Willock return from injury
According to iNews, Newcastle insiders are looking forward to welcoming Willock back from injury and believe he can make Howe’s side even better.
They state this imminent return is ’cause for optimism’.

While Newcastle have coped without him on the whole, there have been times when Willock has been a major miss.
The £25million man offers something different to the rest of our midfielders, and was recently described as a ‘key player‘ by Howe.
That certainly was the case last season, but now he will have to compete with new signing Sandro Tonali, the emerging Elliot Anderson and a red hot Sean Longstaff for a place in the starting XI.
Newcastle have a stacked midfield, and it will improve even further when Willock returns.
Toon insiders are keen to see him back, as are fans. His speed with the ball makes him such an exciting player, and there will certainly be a huge roar when he runs out at St James’ Park for the first time this season.
