Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes was keeping a close eye on Fifa’s award ceremony on Tuesday.
Bruno Guimaraes started the season slowly for Newcastle United but his form has picked up in recent weeks.
However, whenever the Brazilian finds form, transfer speculation follows.
Guimaraes continues to be linked with Manchester City with Pep Guardiola a huge admirer. The Premier League champions could reignite interest and test Newcastle’s resolve in 2025.
Last year, Guimaraes was linked with Real Madrid with the Spanish giants reportedly sharing a long-term interest in Newcastle’s captain.
Thankfully those rumours have died down, but Guimaraes still remains good friends with several Real Madrid stars, including Vinicius Junior.

Bruno Guimaraes message to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior
Guimaraes has become a regular for the Brazil national team since completing his £35m move to Newcastle in January 2022.
The 27-year-old has now made 32 caps for his national team where he plays alongside some of the world’s best talents, including Vinicius Junior.
Vinicius Junior dramatically snubbed the Ballon d’Or ceremony back in October after feeling “disrespected” by the award instead going to Manchester City’s Rodri.
However, Vini Jr was awarded The Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2024 during Tuesday’s ceremony.
Guimaraes quickly congratulated the Real Madrid star on his award with a nine-word message on Instagram.

The post translates to: “Well deserved!!! So happy for you, brother @vinijr Number 1”.
Newcastle face fight to keep Bruno Guimaraes
There is a growing feeling at St James’ Park that Newcastle will have to sell a star in 2025 to help navigate the Profit and Sustainability Rules.
That likely means one of Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon or Guimaraes headed out the door.
Reports suggest Newcastle have dropped Guimaraes’ asking price well below the £100m he was available for in the summer.
However, PIF do not want to sell to Manchester City, which could help Newcastle keep hold of the Brazilian beyond 2025.
Despite Guimaraes’ friendship with Vini Jr, a move to Real Madrid also seems unlikely.
