Can Newcastle United win the Premier League next season?
While possible new signings are all Newcastle fans can think about at present, one massive question many will be considering is whether the club can actually win the Premier League title next season.
Though they eventually finished fifth, the Magpies were within touching distance of a runners-up place with two games remaining and only losing their last two games saw them slide down the table.
Liverpool ran away with the trophy but Newcastle were certainly competitive below them and have more than enough quality to make a step up and really challenge the champions.
However, that will depend on how much Howe manages to strengthen his squad this summer, with a lack of depth amid mounting injuries proving costly last term.
Newcastle need quality reinforcements to enhance the manager’s options and things haven’t gone well in the pursuits of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo so far.
There’s still plenty of time but the longer Antonio Cordero remains the only new signing, the more nervous fans will become.
Newcastle have a great chance to be serious title contenders next season but this summer must go right first.
