Everything Alexander Isak touches right now turns to goals for Newcastle United.
Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever is unstoppable at the moment, with Alexander Isak scoring his 18th and 19th goals of the season on Saturday.
His brace helped Newcastle United beat Southampton, as Eddie Howe’s side bounced back from their disappointing display versus Bournemouth.
The Magpies are relying on Isak and his goals, with the Swedish striker on track to enjoy the best season of his career.
He has incredible chemistry with so many of his Toon teammates. Bruno Guimaraes always knows how to find him, while Anthony Gordon regularly combines with Isak. Gordon recently called Isak unselfish, after the striker teed him up to score against Wolves.

Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy’s incredible record this season

However, the combination of Isak and Gordon is not the most prolific at Newcastle United right now.
Instead, that honour goes to Isak and Jacob Murphy. They have combined to score seven Premier League goals this season, which is more than any other duo in the entire top flight.
They linked up again on Saturday, as Murphy’s beautiful pass allowed Isak to score his second goal of the game.
Murphy has set up Isak six times, while the favour has been returned once.
Behind Murphy and Isak, the combinations of Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins, Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, and Palmer and Noni Madueke have all got five goal combinations.
Pressure on Jacob Murphy to keep performing for Newcastle
Isak’s ability in the final third is no secret, but Murphy deserves so much praise for what he has been able to achieve in recent months.
The 29-year-old has made the right wing position his own, at a time when Newcastle United are looking for reinforcements.
The Magpies have been looking for a new winger for a long time, with Eddie Howe crying out for a bit of extra quality. However, there is no need as long as Murphy continues to perform at this level.
Hopefully he does, as Newcastle are unlikely to sign a winger this month.
That puts Murphy under pressure, especially with Almiron set to leave Newcastle United and re-sign for Atlanta United imminently.
