Anthony Gordon continued his remarkable run of form for Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Newcastle beat Wolves 3-0 at St James’ Park, with Alexander Isak scoring in his eighth consecutive Premier League game. He now has 16 goal in his last 16 games.
But the 25-year-old is not the only Newcastle United player who is enjoying a hot streak right now.
The same goes for Anthony Gordon, who has scored or provided an assist in each of Newcastle’s last nine games. He now has eight goals and five assists this season, with nine of those goal contributions coming during this nine-game winning run.
He scored for the fourth game running on Wednesday night, with Alexander Isak providing the assist.

What Anthony Gordon said to Alexander Isak after scoring in Newcastle’s win over Wolves
Newcastle United’s most expensive signing ever turned provider at St James’ Park, following up his two goals with an assist. And that is despite having the opportunity to go for goal himself.
Isak was played through on goal by Joelinton, and could easily have tried to score himself and net his second hat-trick of the campaign.
However, Isak instead tried to find Gordon, who busted a gut to get in at the back post. The run epitomised how Gordon has been transformed by Eddie Howe, showing a real desire to get on the scoresheet.
While the first pass did not reach Gordon, Isak got a second chance to tee up his teammate. The Swede found Gordon with attempt number two, as the 23-year-old stroked the ball home to give Newcastle United a 3-0 lead.
As Gordon celebrated, he made sure to thank Isak for the assist.
In a video posted by the club’s official X account, Gordon can be seen saying to Isak: “That’s so unselfish. So unselfish.”
How many times Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon have combined this season
Isak and Gordon have incredible chemistry together. They are such a dangerous duo and know how to get the best out of each other
However, they have only ever combined on six occasions across the 70 games they have played together for Newcastle United. Gordon has set up four of Isak’s goals, while Isak has set up two of Gordon’s.
They will hope to add to that tally on Saturday when the Magpies face Bournemouth at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United can make club history, as they go in search of a 10th consecutive win. Three points would also temporarily lift the Magpies up to third in the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest not in action until Sunday when they face Southampton at the City Ground.
Bournemouth do not have a striker available for the game on Tyneside, with Evanilson and Enes Unal both injured.
