Newcastle United head into the first international break of the season without a win in the Premier League.
Indeed, Newcastle drew 0-0 with Leeds on Saturday to leave them with only two points from their opening three Premier League games.
While there were elements of positivity from their opening two games following a difficult summer for the club, the same can’t really be said about what happened at Elland Road on Saturday.
Newcastle were flat throughout and will hope to rectify things when Wolves come to St James’ Park after the international break.
Club record signing Nick Woltemade is in line to make his debut then, while Eddie Howe will be keen to recover some of his injured players.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United injury news and potential return dates.

Jacob Ramsey
Summer signing Jacob Ramsey made his full debut for Newcastle away at Leeds on Saturday.
The former Aston Villa star, however, was replaced at the break with Lewis Miley after twisting his ankle in the first half.
Ramsey was stepping in for the injured Joelinton but suffered a knock himself.
After the game, the Newcastle United manager said: “Unfortunately, JJ twisted an ankle and it swelled up a little bit at half time.
“He was slightly uncomfortable, so we took him off.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Sven Botman
Newcastle fans could be forgiven for wincing whenever Sven Botman goes down, such have been his injury problems in recent seasons.
The Dutchman was making his first appearance of the season but came off in the second half after getting treatment on a foot injury.
Thankfully for Newcastle, however, Howe confirmed after the game that Botman wasn’t injured.
“I think he’s okay,” he said.
“I think it was time in the game for us to change [system], to try and find a way to win the game and score. That was the intention of the substitution.”
Potential return date: Saturday 13 September 2025 vs Wolves

Joelinton
Joelinton missed Newcastle’s game against Leeds with the groin injury he suffered against Liverpool.
The Brazilian left the pitch in tears at St James’ Park, sparking fears about a long-term injury.
He was duly ruled out of the Brazil squad for their World Cup qualifiers later this month.
However, while he was ruled out at Leeds, Howe sounded hopeful of having him back in action after the international break.
“Joey’s scan was good but he will miss this weekend, we’ll hopefully get him back for the game after the international break,” confirmed Howe.
Potential return date: September 2025
