Newcastle United fans on social media believe that William Osula can step up after more bad news on Yoane Wissa.
Wissa’s return from injury has been delayed at Newcastle United, in a major blow for the club.
The former Brentford forward is still to make his debut for the club following a big-money move on deadline day, having suffered a knee injury while playing for DR Congo in September.
The 29-year-old was initially expected to return in October but that has since been delayed until November.
Even then, there is no guarantee he will be fully fit given he did not go through a pre-season with the Bees as he looked to force a move to St James’ Park.
Nick Woltemade is certainly carrying the attacking burden without Wissa right now but Toon fans on social media platform X believe the blow is another chance for William Osula to establish himself.

Newcastle United fans back William Osula after Yoane Wissa injury
Osula has already scored three goals this season, while he also recorded an impressive assist in the Champions League against Union Saint-Gilloise. It has been a fine start to the campaign for him.
The former Sheffield United youngster has had to wait for his chance under Eddie Howe but, slowly but surely, is starting to convince.
“The only positive out of this Wissa set back is more game time for Osula,” wrote another fan.
Another said: “Osula has improved massively – it will be good for him to get more minutes now.”
One fan added: “Osula masterclass incoming.”
“Not really bothered by this Wissa situation because I still think Osula will be forced to step up this season”, was another comment.
Newcastle United insiders have a theory about William Osula
The Danish U21 international almost left the club earlier this summer, with Eintracht Frankfurt close to signing him.
However, figures inside Newcastle think the fact Osula stayed could be a good thing for the club.
Owners PIF put a stop to the deal, believing that the terms worked in Frankfurt’s favour rather than Newcastle.
Hopefully, it’s something of a sliding doors moment. Osula needs to step up for Newcastle and, on early evidence, he’s doing exactly that.
