Newcastle United are keen to bolster their midfield in the summer after having been caught out with a lack of numbers this season.
Eddie Howe won’t want to risk not having enough players again next season after suffering an incredible injury crisis this year and so preparations for the summer window are now well underway.
A new report from HITC has suggested that Newcastle have made contact with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot who had a huge role to play in the World Cup final in 2022.
Newcastle reigniting interest in ‘unplayable’ midfielder
This is not the first time that Newcastle have shown an interest in Rabiot after tracking the French international in 2023 ahead of what could have been a big move in the summer.
The 28-year-old was also believed to be wanted by Man United at the time, though he ultimately decided to stay with Juventus for the time being and is still playing a key role this season.
The midfielder has played 21 times in Serie A scoring four and assisting a further three goals as the Old Lady look to make a push for the title, though they are still nine points behind leaders Inter Milan.
Now, with Rabiot’s contract expiring in the summer his future is up in the air and Newcastle have once again thrown their hat into the ring by making contact with him in the last few month.

Newcastle not alone in Rabiot interest
There are a number of clubs, including Newcastle, who are showing a keen interest in signing the ‘unplayable‘ midfielder with so many clubs wanting to upgrade their current midfield for next season.
Newcastle in particular feel like they’re somewhat unbalanced with their current group and would like to add a more defensive minded player into the mix to help sure up their defence.
But they will be met by some tough competition as it’s understood that Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have all also made contact with Rabiot to find out what his financial demands would be.
The Serie A and Ligue 1 title winner is a very experienced player and would be a huge name for Newcastle to bring in, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them go all out for his signature.
