Adrien Rabiot looks set to be leaving Juventus when his contract runs out next month and Newcastle United have been tipped to make him an offer he can’t refuse.

Newcastle‘s interest in Adrien Rabiot is nothing new, but now reports from Italy are suggesting that the Magpies might be finally set to make their move.

A report in Calciomercato has claimed, that despite Rabiot finally clicking at Juventus, it’s expected that he will leave when his contract expires in the summer. They also claim that Newcastle will offer him ‘frightening sums’ of money on a four-year deal, along with assurances of first-team football to lure him away from Italy.

Rabiot is reportedly set to move to the Premier League in the summer

It’s not hinted at what a ‘frightening’ sum of money is, but Calciomercato do say it would be well beyond what Juventus could offer making it very hard for Rabiot to turn down.

Should he not fancy Newcastle, though, there’s still other clubs in the Premier League who could be interested. Chelsea and Arsenal have been mentioned. Of course Newcastle hold the trump card of the Champions League over Chelsea, but Arsenal could be a strong contender with Calciomercato convinced he will move to England.

A four-year deal for the ‘excellent‘ midfielder would take Rabiot up to 32 at Newcastle, which given Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth‘s objective of building a squad of young players to transform into superstars, doesn’t really fit. But every young squad needs an experienced head in there too and Kieran Trippier can’t be expected to carry that burden all the time.

Newcastle could be taking a risk with Rabiot but it’s one that could pay off

Rabiot has made 27 Serie A appearances bagging eight goals and providing three assists this term. He has also picked up seven yellow cards, which puts him in the Joelinton category of discipline, but that’s not always a bad thing. It certainly isn’t with J7.

I think opinion is quite split on Adrien Rabiot, he has had a tendency to disappear in games, which is probably why it took Juventus so long to warm to him. However, there’s no denying that on his day, he is world-class. He showed that for France at the World Cup in Qatar.

It’s a risky one for Newcastle, especially if they’re actually looking to pay these ‘frightening sums’. But as I say, on his day, he can be amazing so is it worth that risk? I think so.
