Newcastle United have bought some incredible players since the change of ownership, but now they might have to sell one of their top stars.
That is what fans are being consistently told by the media, as the Newcastle owners struggle to invest in new players during the January transfer window.
Eddie Howe would like reinforcements, but the club are massively mindful of financial fair play, or profit and sustainability rules as they are now known.
One solution is selling players, which Newcastle did in the summer. Allan Saint-Maximin left, which allowed Tino Livramento to come in.
Now they might have to do it again, but it could result in a much bigger player departing Tyneside. The likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak and Sven Botman are our most saleable assets, and a new report from AS in Spain has named the player who Newcastle United have decided to sell.
Newcastle decide to sell Bruno Guimaraes
According to AS, Newcastle have decided to cash in on Bruno Guimaraes at the end of the season. They state that the board have decided that he will leave the club this summer.
AS add that Paris Saint-Germain will reignite their interest after deciding against signing him now, while Barcelona are also keen. In fact, AS state that the La Liga giants are Bruno’s preferred option.
It has previously been reported that the 26-year-old would like to play in Spain at some point in his career.

Newcastle’s Bruno decision is surely nonsense
On the face of it, this is disastrous news. Bruno is our best player, and replacing him will be incredibly difficult. No one can do what he does in a Toon shirt, which is why Eddie Howe believes he is so unique.
But, in all honesty, this story is just hard to believe. First of all, the Spanish press are hardly the most reliable. It was not too long ago that they were discussing Cristiano Ronaldo moving to St James’ Park as if it was a genuine possibility.
On top of that, it is also difficult to believe that Barcelona even have a chance given their financial issues.
All this talk of a big player leaving Newcastle is massively unsettling, but there is surely no way that the club have made such a big decision already.
While selling players will help with profit and sustainability, it is not the only solution. And you could argue that Bruno is so good that he should never be sold under any circumstances.
Of course, there is always the worry that Bruno could go, as the new contract he signed last year includes a release clause that will allow him to leave if someone agrees to pay around £105million for him.
But this story seems nonsensical, and should not lead to panic from the Toon Army.
