Bruno Guimaraes has been a Newcastle United player for almost two years, and what a ride it has been so far.
The club have experienced real highs ever since he arrived from Lyon, reaching the Carabao Cup final and qualifying for the Champions League. It is exactly what Bruno wanted to achieve in a Newcastle shirt, and the next item on his agenda is trophies.
The Brazilian is already idolised on Tyneside, but he would become immortal if he played a role in the Magpies ending their trophy drought.
In the immediate future, a contract extension appears to be on the horizon for Bruno. It has been claimed that a deal is pretty much done, with the 25-year-old set to commit his long-term future to Newcastle United.
That is excellent news, as it appears that there was a lot of interest in Bruno this summer. Both Liverpool and Chelsea tried to sign him, but Newcastle rejected their advances.

With a new deal set to be signed, Bruno clearly wants to stay at St James’ Park. However, a new report from the Telegraph hints that he might envision leaving the North East at some point in the future.
Bruno Guimaraes might not be a Newcastle player forever
According to the Telegraph, it is believed that Bruno would like to play in Spain at some point in his career.
He has already played in his native Brazil, France and now England, but he would also like to test himself in La Liga.
There has actually been talk of him going to Spain over the past 18 months, with Real Madrid linked with signing him less than a year after he joined Newcastle.
Los Blancos are clear admirers of Bruno, and a move to the Spanish capital to play for the biggest club in the world would have to be appealing. Barcelona would no doubt be an attractive proposition for him as well.

So many Brazilian players dream of representing Real Madrid or Barcelona, so it is no surprise to read that Bruno would like to play in Spain at some point in his career.
It does not mean he wants to leave Newcastle – far from it. But there could come a time when he decides to move on.
However, that time is not now, and Newcastle fans can look forward to more years of Bruno playing in black and white – especially when the club announce that he has signed a new contract.
