Miguel Almiron’s Newcastle United future is very much up in the air ahead of the January transfer window.
The Paraguay international has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park for the past 12 months, with Newcastle United almost selling Miguel Almiron to a club in Saudi Arabia back in January.
There were then rumours regarding his future in the summer, with Almiron’s move back to the MLS collapsing.
Since the summer transfer window, Almiron has barely played for Newcastle. The 30-year-old has made seven appearances in total this season, starting on just three occasions.
It has now been claimed that Newcastle will listen to offers for Almiron, as the January transfer window looms.
Miguel Almiron’s agent speaks out again

However, the winger’s agent Daniel Campos does not appear to expect a move away for his client in early 2025.
Campos recently admitted that Almiron is ‘not happy’ about his lack of minutes and Newcastle, before stating that he will fight for his place at St James’ Park.
Now Almiron’s agent has spoken out again, telling Soy del Millio that he will stay at Newcastle for a few more years unless a ‘significant’ offer arrives.
“He has a valid contract, it was renewed last year for three more,” he said.
“Miguel is not desperate for money or crazy things. If there is an offer from a team, we will go through the appropriate channels.
“So it seems that he has another two and a half years left on his contract with Newcastle United and that, unless some other club makes a significant offer, with corresponding wages, he will stay on Tyneside for a while yet.”
Confusion over Almiron’s Newcastle contract
According to his agent, Almiron has two-and-a-half years left on his Newcastle United contract. That would take him to the summer of 2027.
However, the club announced in February 2023 that Almiron had signed a new three-and-a-half year deal, which would only run until the summer of 2026.
Newcastle United need to sell Miguel Almiron
Regardless, it is clear that Newcastle United need to try their best to move Almiron on in 2025.
He is no longer an important player at St James’ Park, with Newcastle eager to replace him with a new right winger.
And given the Magpies’ PSR problems, it is vital that the club start to become better sellers. That must begin with a departure for Almiron next year.
Miggy has been an important player during his time on Tyneside, but his influence has waned as of late. It is time for the club to evolve, which means finding a new home for Almiron.
However, based on his agent’s comments, it does not sound like he will be pushing for a move away, which could complicate matters.
