Newcastle United fans are excited for the club’s upcoming Amazon Prime documentary, and so is co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi.

It was announced this week that the first episode of the four-part Amazon series will be released on August 11th, one day before the Magpies kick off the new Premier League season.

The documentary will follow Newcastle‘s journey through the 2022/23 campaign, which saw the club reach the Carabao Cup final at Wembley and qualify for the Champions League.

The trailer has been released, and it looks absolutely brilliant. It includes behind the scenes insight from the owners, which will be very interesting to watch with regards to them signing players amid an inflated market following the takeover.

It also shows some brilliant team talks from Eddie Howe, including one from the home game against Manchester United last season. Erik ten Hag had been critical of Newcastle in the buildup, and Howe was very keen to ensure his players forced the Red Devils boss to eat his words.

On top of all that, the series will be narrated by Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who confirmed the news via his official Twitter account earlier this week.

Mehrdad Ghodoussi is excited about Newcastle’s upcoming Amazon Prime series

Ahead of the release of the Amazon documentary, Toon co-owner Ghodoussi has delivered a message to supporters, expressing how excited he is about its launch.

He wrote: “I’ve got the popcorn ready.”

Amanda Staveley’s husband is clearly very excited to see the documentary, as he knows exactly what the film crew caught on camera!

Ghodoussi does feature in the trailer, and it will be interesting to see how heavily he is involved. With the likes of Darren Eales and Dan Ashworth now at the club, it is unclear what the likes of Ghodoussi do on a day-to-day basis, so that will be intriguing.

But the popcorn will definitely be out, because we know that the series will certainly have a happy ending by the time episode four lands on Amazon Prime.
