Erik ten Hag criticised Newcastle United during the buildup to the Carabao Cup final, and now the Manchester United boss has done it again.
The two sides meet at St James’ Park on Sunday, with Newcastle knowing that a win will left them above Manchester United in the Premier League table. The Magpies will also be out for revenge, having lost 2-0 at Wembley back in February.
Ahead of the cup final, Ten Hag described Newcastle as ‘annoying‘, taking issue with our alleged timewasting.
Now the Dutchman has reinforced this message ahead of the trip to St James’ Park.
What Erik ten Hag has now said about Newcastle
Ten Hag has spoke to the media ahead of the game against Newcastle on Sunday. He was asked about the Magpies’ apparent “tactics”.

“We know they delay, yeah. It’s something that is what the referees don’t want, they want to have tempo in the game. That is the aim of the Premier League to have tempo in the game.
“So they (referees) also have to be consistent to let the game go. Do and act what the policy is.”
Hypocrite
Is this guy for real? What Newcastle do is no different to any club in the Premier League.
Even Ten Hag’s side a guilty of it, which is incredibly hard to believe about the mightier than thou Manchester United.
They slowed the game down brilliantly at Wembley when we faced them in the Carabao Cup final. You could call it timewasting, or just good game management. The 53-year-old would probably say it was the latter on that occasion.

But it was their prerogative. They were winning, and looking to see the game out. It’s gamesmanship, and it ensured they kept a clean sheet and lifted the 2023 League Cup trophy.
Then they were at it again a week later. The Red Devils took on Anfield one week after the cup final, where they were spanked 7-0 by rivals Liverpool.
But before they fell apart, they were doing their best to slow the game down and stop Liverpool dictating the tempo.
Ten Hag is an absolute hypocrite, and is being completely disrespectful to Newcastle – who will go above his side with a win.
It is obviously mind games from the Man United boss, but in the words of Kevin Keegan: “I would love it if we beat them!”
