Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento starred in England’s 3-1 win against the Czech Republic on Thursday night, and Manchester City fans were loving it.
After being overlooked by Thomas Tuchel for a place in England’s senior setup, Lee Carsley put his arm around the 22-year-old and offered him a place in the under-21s squad.
Tino Livramento has made his senior England debut, with Carsley the man to give it to him. He is yet to make his first appearance under Tuchel, despite being called up to the squad for a pair of internationals in March alongside teammates Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn.
Tuchel’s loss appears to have been Carsley’s gain; however, the former interim England boss is very pleased that he was able to use him for the Under-21 European Championships in Slovakia this month.
Livramento was electric for England against the Czech Republic, looking lively at left-back all evening and bagging an assist for their second goal. He was unfortunate to be caught out for their goal, but he made up for it with a solid showing for the final 40 minutes.
This summer, Man City held tentative talks with Newcastle for Livramento, but the Magpies were not willing to sell. Now, Man City fans have made a big realisation about Livramento.

Man City fans urge Pep Guardiola to sign Tino Livramento from Newcastle United
Livramento will be back in action on Sunday when they take on Slovenia for a chance of securing qualification to the knockout stages of the tournament.
England are the reigning European Champions after heroics from players like Gordon and Newcastle target James Trafford, so Carsley will be keen to do the same with the new crop of players.
Livramento could now be the hero of this tournament after his impressive performance on Thursday night, which caught the eye of many Man City fans. Taking to the social media platform X, the fans made it very clear what they wanted their club to do.
“They should break the bank for Tino Livramento and I expect them to do so after CWC. Special footballer, will have you set for 10 years.” said one Man City fan, while another added: “We spent the money on Walker and look how great that turned out. City need to stop messing about and do it.”
This Man City fan referred to Newcastle’s stance on selling Livramento, saying: “Agree, they won’t sell easily, and fair enough. Would be perfect for us.”
“I was gutted when Newcastle signed him.” said this disappointed Man City fan.
Another fan added: “100% agree only reason i can see us not going for him is if the price is too high or if Wesley has a good CWC.”
Finally, this Man City fan said: “He’s levels above them kids.”

Tino Livramento has performed better as a left-back with Newcastle United
While the wider footballing audience is being exposed to Livramento’s quality through the under-21 European Championships, Newcastle fans have been singing his praises for months.
Livramento replaced Lewis Hall at left-back after the latter suffered a season-ending ankle injury. The 22-year-old was placed into that position ahead of natural left-backs like Matt Targett, a sign that Eddie Howe had a lot of trust in him.
He showed encouraging signs in his first game in the position in Newcastle’s win against West Ham, and played out of his skin in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool a few days later.
The way this season has gone, many would argue that Livramento has actually played better as a left-back than he has on the right.
He seems to have much more freedom to get up the pitch in that position and is seeing the benefits of doing so. He bagged one assist in the game on Thursday night and was very unlucky not to have more.
