Newcastle United are on the brink in the Champions League, and need a win in their next fixture.

That will be on November 28th, when Eddie Howe takes his team across the channel to face Paris Saint-Germain.

They are the only team that Newcastle have beat in the Champions League this season. That was a historic night that saw the Magpies beat the PSG megastars 4-1. Goals from Dan Burn and Sean Longstaff left Kylian Mbappe sulking, as Newcastle delivered a message to the rest of Europe.

Since then, it has been much tougher in the Champions League for Howe’s side. They have been beaten twice by Borussia Dortmund, and are now bottom of Group F.

That is because PSG lost on Tuesday night, with AC Milan beating them 2-1 at the San Siro – a stadium where Newcastle got a point earlier in the competition.

That result leaves PSG in second place with six points, knowing that they are far from guaranteed to advance to the next round of the competition.

They have won both their home games but lost on the road, so luckily for them they are at the Parc Des Princes in their next fixture. Kylian Mbappe and co will welcome Newcastle to Paris, and the World Cup winner has delivered a warning message to the Magpies as his side go in search of revenge.

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe’s message to Newcastle

Following PSG’s defeat to AC Milan, Mbappe spoke to the official Ligue 1 website. He looked towards their next European fixture, hoping that they can ‘bounce back’ against Newcastle.

“It’s never easy to lose, so we’re disappointed,” he said.

“We were lacking in a number of areas, and we’ll be looking to bounce back at home against Newcastle.

“I don’t know why [PSG have lost both UCL away games]. We’re disappointed.

“It didn’t go our way tonight and we’re going to try and respond against Newcastle at home.”

Huge Champions League night in Paris later this month

Newcastle have proven they can beat PSG, but it is going to be very different away from home.

The St James’ Park crowd had such an impact back in October, and helped Howe’s side secure a famous victory.

But winning over in France would arguably be even more impressive, against a side that is relying on their home form to make it through to the next stage of the Champions League.

Mbappe will be absolutely desperate to win. He will want to keep competing in the elite competition, while he has a point to prove after underwhelming on his trip to Tyneside.

This time we will be in his backyard, and Mbappe is promising that PSG will bounce back when Newcastle arrive later this month.
