Joelinton is getting closer to welcoming Bruno Guimaraes back to Newcastle United.

While the 27-year-old has been working hard in pre-season, Bruno Guimaraes has been enjoying an extended break after his Copa America commitments.

But the Magpies will not be without their talisman for much longer, with Joelinton admitting that Bruno will be back for Newcastle’s trip to Japan. The Magpies head to the Far East this weekend, following their friendly with Hull City.

It will be great to welcome Bruno back, and the hope is that he will be back for good.

Bruno Guimaraes linked with leaving Newcastle United

This summer has been filled with rumours that Bruno could leave Newcastle, especially when his £100million release clause was active.

But that clause has now expired, meaning Newcastle now have control over Bruno’s future.

However, there is still a risk that he could go. There has been a fear that Manchester City could bid for Bruno, and that would be very difficult for the midfielder to turn down.

Joelinton comments on Bruno’s future

Every Toon fan is hoping that Bruno will stay at St James’ Park, and Joelinton feels the same.

He has spoke about Bruno’s future during an interview with the Telegraph, expressing his hope that his fellow Brazilian will remain on Tyneside, where he loves to live.

“I hope he [Bruno] stays,” he said.

“I know him, he loves the club as well. He loves the fans, he enjoys his life in Newcastle. I think he’s glad to be there for his life, as well as football. Newcastle and the club want him to be happy and stay for many years.

“I think he’s going to stay. He tells me he’s going to come back next week and get ready for the season.”

Bruno committed to the North East

According to Joelinton, Bruno absolutely loves living in the North East with his family. He is happy with his life in Newcastle, and that could really help Eddie Howe’s side retain the services of their best player.

Bruno has a very young family, with his wife giving birth to their second child earlier this year. They appear to be settled on Tyneside, and recently bought a new house in the region.

While that is not necessarily a commitment to Newcastle United, it is a commitment to the area.

That could help the Magpies keep Bruno for at least another year – a year that will not include European football. While Bruno might be able to accept one season out of a major competition like the Champions League or the Europa League, it might be a different story if Newcastle fail to qualify for a second consecutive season.

Joelinton is committed to Newcastle United

Joelinton is hopeful that his friend will continue to be his teammate, as he celebrates five years with Newcastle United.

July 23rd was the anniversary of Joelinton’s arrival on Tyneside, joining the club in 2019 for a then club record fee of £40million.

The Brazil international has taken to his official Instagram account to comment on the anniversary, writing: “5 years of love and dedication! Proud to wear this shirt and be part of this club.”

While Joelinton hopes that Bruno stays at Newcastle, he is definitely going nowhere.

He recently signed a new long-term contract with the club, committing his future to Newcastle United.

Now he is waiting to welcome his friend back to Tyneside, as Newcastle get set to take their pre-season preparations to Japan.
