Newcastle United have now completed the signing of Tino Livramento.
After a protracted period, the 20-year-old becomes Newcastle’s third first-team signing of the summer, following Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes through the door.
While some may argue a back-up right-back was not a priority for Eddie Howe given the FFP problems limiting where funds can be spent, Livramento is one for the future.

Hailed as “excellent” by Gareth Southgate prior to his injury and someone Chelsea were reportedly keen to bring back, it seems Newcastle have quite the player on their hands.
Indeed, one big name European star has taken notice.
Jamal Musiala posts wordless reaction to Newcastle signing Tino Livramento
After signing his five-year contract, the England U21 international took to Instagram to celebrate.
As you can imagine, his post was swamped by former teammates congratulating him on the move.
A certain Jamal Musiala took note. The German international played with Livramento at Chelsea’s youth academy and commented two love hearts, underling how big players around Europe are taking notice.
Brilliant signing for Newcastle
Kieran Trippier, sadly, cannot go on forever.
In fact, there is already believed to be an acceptance the defender will not play every game next season, particularly with the increased schedule by way of Champions League qualification.
To that end, signing a player in a key position with so much room to grow seems a wise investment.
Livramento has already spoken on how he wishes to learn from Trippier and is reportedly happy to operate in a back-up role while he works his way back up to full fitness.
Certainly, it seems like everybody wins. Newcastle get cover and a potential heir to Trippier, he gets a rest now and again and Livramento is afforded time to get up to speed under Howe.
Ideal.
