Newcastle United forward Miguel Almiron has endured a strange few weeks.
So good against Paris Saint-Germain as Newcastle battled to a Champions League draw, Almiron then started frustrating.
Indeed, the £21m forward then missed good chances against Everton, Tottenham and AC Milan as Eddie Howe’s side began to toil.
Almiron, however, was back in the goals on Saturday as Newcastle beat Fulham. He pounced on a loose ball after Callum Wilson was brought down in the box for a tap-in, doubling the lead after Lewis Miley’s first professional goal.
Dan Burn would add a late third as Howe’s side returned to winning ways following a difficult week.
Teammate Jacob Murphy was delighted.
Miguel Almiron: Jacob Murphy sends message to Newcastle star
After the game, Almiron took to Instagram to celebrate, posting a collage of himself in action and hailing a much-needed three points.
In reply, Murphy wrote: “Back in the goals” followed by two positives emojis.

Miguel Almiron: Newcastle star needs a rest
So good last season and having shown flashes at the highest of levels this season, Almiron could surely do with a rest.
In an ideal world, Murphy would be stepping in to cover for the Paraguay international on the right-hand side of the attack between big games.
It was Murphy who excelled against Crystal Palace in October as Howe rotated his options, a rare luxury in a season decimated by injuries.
Almiron, however, has had to play pretty much every game possible with Murphy injured and Harvey Barnes also unavailable.
The former Atlanta forward may not be everyone’s cup of tea and does have a tendency to miss chances but he constantly puts a shift in and has not been afforded the chance to rest, even dealing with injury at times.
As Murphy says, it’s brilliant to see him rewarded with a goal.
