Newcastle United’s injury crisis got worse away at Bournemouth on Saturday.
Eddie Howe is already having to contend without a number of his key players after a nightmare spate of luck for Newcastle on the fitness front.
That appeared to come to a head at Bournemouth on Saturday evening as a tired-looking Magpies team were well-beaten by a side struggling towards the bottom of the Premier League.
Frustrations boiled over after the full-time whistle too, with Kieran Trippier involved in a heated exchange with a supporter.
On the pitch, numbers got even lighter. Miguel Almiron was forced off with what appeared to be a hamstring problem and Howe has provided an update.
Miguel Almiron: Eddie Howe provides injury update
After the game, Howe confirmed the 29-year-old had suffered a hamstring problem.
“It’s a hamstring problem,” Howe said (via The Athletic).
“I hope it’s not serious. We all hope that, but we don’t know at this moment in time quite how bad it is.”

Miguel Almiron: Newcastle could miss a key player
Almiron has been one of many Newcastle players to have seen his career transformed by Howe.
Gone are the days when the Paraguayan would struggle in front of goal, which makes any potential absence for some key games a major worry.
So good against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg, his boundless energy would be a huge miss for the trip to the French capital later this month as Newcastle look to make up ground in the group.
Clearly, there’s no guarantee he will miss that but the omens certainly aren’t promising.
It should, at least, offer the impressive Tino Livramento a chance. Trusted to start on the right wing against Borussia Dortmund and having played well there, perhaps he will be lining up in attack for Newcastle against Chelsea and PSG after the international break.
