Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has been the centre of numerous transfer reports this season.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a return to Serie A this summer, but the feeling on Tyneside is that the Magpies are not looking to sell.
Newcastle United love Sandro Tonali and do not believe he has a ceiling. That is according to Jason Tindall, who has seen some of the best of the Italians’ football in his two games in the dugout.
By 2030, Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan wants Newcastle to build a superteam, and Tonali should be a part of that. This season is proof that Tonali is amongst some of the best midfielders in Europe, as Tindall said.
After his performance in Newcastle’s win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, fans debated whether Tonali is Newcastle’s best-ever midfielder – many believe he is.
Juventus want to sign Tonali this summer and are even willing to trade the likes of Douglas Luiz to persuade Newcastle to let him leave.
However, Newcastle want to keep Tonali for the Champions League next season, with qualification looking increasingly likely after their recent results.
With transfer speculation set to last the whole summer, Italian media have reported a new price tag that they think Newcastle would be happy to accept for the midfield maestro.

Italian media share new price tag for Sandro Tonali
Before he moved to the club, Newcastle did not think they could sign Tonali. The Italy international is Milan through and through. However, representatives were shocked to learn that Tonali’s entourage was playing ball and eventually got a deal done.
While his form and Newcastle’s admiration make Tonali effectively untouchable, Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport have not refrained from naming their own price tag.
The report suggests that offers within the region of £60-£70m will be enough to get Newcastle to accept this summer.
Additionally, the report suggests that Tonali is high on Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli’s target list, and that he would be one of the few players capable of shifting the balance of now Old Lady boss Igor Tudor’s midfield.
Juventus are ready to make a move, but that fee is far too low for Tonali. The 24-year-old joined Newcastle for a fee of £55m in 2023; his performance this season is proof that the Magpies would need much more than £5m profit to let him go.
Newcastle United’s actual stance on selling Sandro Tonali
Throughout the 2024/25 campaign, Tonali has gone from strength to strength, showing why Newcastle were right to bring him to Tyneside and keep their faith in him after his 10-month ban.
Ultimately, Tonali is happy at Newcastle. There is no indication that he wants to leave the club amid the rumours of a quickfire return to Italy.
| Sandro Tonali | Statistics 2024/25 (League) |
| Appearances | 30 |
| Goals | 3 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Accurate Passes | 1134 |
| Recoveries | 152 |
It was recently reported that Newcastle will not entertain ‘world-record offers for Tonali this summer, meaning they would be rejecting approaches over £100m this summer.
That stance just goes to show how much the club values Tonali and the lengths they are willing to go to keep him in the North East.
