Sandro Tonali has been exceptional for Newcastle United this season, improving every game.
The Italian has completely transformed the way the Magpies are able to play, despite not originally being signed to play as a holding midfielder.
Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, his Newcastle United teammates, have much more freedom to play their natural game, safe in the knowledge that Sandro Tonali is behind them to thwart any counterattacks.
Tonali bagged an assist in Newcastle’s win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, showing how well-rounded a player he is. Newcastle fans were in awe of Tonali after his performance, with many even claiming he is the best midfielder in the club’s history.
Newcastle were shocked that they signed Tonali, but bringing him in has turned out to be one of the best decisions the club have made since the takeover in 2021.
With Tonali thriving for the Magpies, Newcastle assistant manager Jason Tindall has said what he thinks of the 24-year-old’s future.

Newcastle United’s Jason Tindall praises Sandro Tonali
Eddie Howe has been replaced with Jason Tindall at Newcastle while he recovers after being diagnosed with pneumonia, but that has not stopped the Magpies’ winning streak.
With Tindall in the dugout, Newcastle have scored nine goals in their last two games, conceding just once. Tonali scored in Newcastle’s win against Manchester United on Sunday, just over a week after scoring a sensational goal in a win against Brentford at St James’ Park.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Tindall was asked what Tonali’s ceiling is.
“There’s still more to come. When you see him when he first came to now, there’s been huge growth in him as a player. The demands we set for the players, there’s always room for improvement.
“Sandro has delivered some fantastic performances. With the type of player and professional he is – the sort of attitude he has – there is no ceiling for him. He is one of the best midfielders in Europe based on his form.”
Tonali will be in contention to start in Newcastle’s trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, where the Magpies can move even deeper into the Champions League places with a win.

Sandro Tonali has transfer interest after Newcastle United form
While Tonali has been brilliant for the Magpies, it means there are more eyes on him this summer.
Reports in January have suggested that Juventus want Tonali this summer and are hoping they can ‘exploit’ their new relationship with Newcastle to bring him in.
Lloyd Kelly joined Juventus from Newcastle during the January transfer window, but the Magpies are not willing to let Tonali go as easily as they did for him.
Despite their interest, Tonali is contracted to Newcastle until 2028. That, coupled with their positive financial stance, means they are in no hurry to sell their prized assets.
Tonali does not seem keen on leaving Newcastle this summer either. The 24-year-old said he does not look at any transfer speculation in a recent interview and is loving life on Tyneside.
