Newcastle United make the trip to Merseyside this Saturday, to face off against Everton.
Having progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, with an unconvincing victory against League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon – Eddie Howe will be hoping his side rapidly improve ahead of the weekend.
Sat seventh heading into matchday seven, Newcastle have endured a pretty mixed start to the Premier League season with some impressive victories over Tottenham and Wolves, overshadowed by an awful display away at Fulham.
With the likes of Brighton, Chelsea and Arsenal to come, the Goodison Park clash kicks off a difficult few weeks for the Magpies.
Heartbreaking collapses against the likes of Bournemouth and Aston Villa suggest the Toffees may be an easy scalp for the Toon army, but Everton’s recent upturn in form suggests otherwise.
A draw against Leicester and a first win of the season against Crystal Palace last Saturday, indicate Newcastle may be in for a tough afternoon on Merseyside.

Is Everton v Newcastle on TV?
Fans who could not make the trip to Merseyside will be glad to hear that the game is set to be showcased live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League, with coverage starting from 5:00pm BST.
Sky Sports subscribers will also be able to livestream the game via the SkyGo app.
Team/injury news
After scoring the only goal in Newcastle’s 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, Magpies centre-back Fabian Schar limped off with an injury in the final minutes of the game. When questioned on the defender’s injury Howe claimed it was a “bang to his ankle and a bit of tightness in his body.”
With the likes of Jamal Lascelles and Sven Botman still injured, Toon supporters will be praying Schar is fit enough for the Everton clash.
Despite Newcastle failing to create much against Wimbledon, William Osula impressed Toon fans with his work rate and the former Sheffield United man could feature at Goodison Park if Alexander Isak fails to recover from his toe injury.
Sandro Tonali meanwhile came off against Manchester City with cramp last weekend, which saw the Italian star be rested on Tuesday evening. It would however be no surprise to see the former Milan man return to the Magpies midfield against Everton.
