In Lewis Miley, Newcastle United have quite the player on their hands.
Miley emerged as a genuine option for Newcastle United last season, enjoying a remarkable breakthrough campaign in the midst of an injury crisis.
Indeed, Miley is highly rated by figures in football and it’s easy to see why. The composure with which the 19-year-old took to the stage last season was quite something to behold.
Still, Miley has been linked with a move away from Newcastle. Having progressed through their academy, selling the midfielder would see the club bank ‘pure profit’, helping them further balance the books for the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
That would only be looking at the financial side of things, however. Eddie Howe, of course, is focused on the football. Howe wants to keep Miley at Newcastle, despite the links with a move away.
Now, some fresh insight has emerged.

How Newcastle United feel about Lewis Miley right now
According to The Daily Mail, it is both hoped and expected that the teenager will be more involved next season.
Miley has only made four starts across all competitions this season, both because of injury and the fact the Newcastle United manager has impressive other options in the form of Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.
However, there is a feeling that the Newcastle United academy gradudate can start to feature more regularly. Howe’s side are set for a European campaign of some description next season, as Newcastle have qualified for the Conference League by winning the Carabao Cup.
Still, Champions League qualification is in sight for Howe’s side.

Newcastle United fans make Lewis Miley demand after season-ending blow
While the idea of him featuring more regularly next season is exciting, the talented teen may be needed before then.
Joelinton is expected to miss the rest of the season for Newcastle due to a knee injury sustained in training before Saturday’s win over Ipswich.
Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff are options but Newcastle fans want to see Miley replace Joelinton for the final four games of the season.
Miley proved he can step-up last season. If called upon, there’s little to suggest he can’t do so again.
