Given just how many players have been linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer, it’s going to be difficult to keep up with developments on them all.
Indeed, the club are planning for a Champions League campaign next season and continue to be touted as a landing spot for a variety of big names.
Clearly, Newcastle cannot sign them all.

Still, whenever a rival club lands a deal the Magpies have been rumoured to have been keen on is naturally of particular interest to supporters.
Which brings us to Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian international was suggested to have been a target for the club only days ago but his recent confirmed move to Aston Villa perhaps best defines the nature of the transfer window. There are so many conflicting reports, it’s hard to keep up with them all.
Luke Edwards reveals Newcastle’s stance on Youri Tielemans joining Aston Villa
When the news broke Tielemans, who will see his contract at Leicester expire in a matter of days, had agreed a deal to join Villa on a free transfer, Newcastle fans were keen to know if the Magpies were at all interested.
Asked the question on Twitter Luke Edwards of the Daily Telegraph revealed Newcastle “didn’t want” the midfielder prior to his move to Villa Park.
Tielemans not the focus at Leicester
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so, it seems obvious that Tielemans is not the Leicester player Newcastle so desire.

That honour instead goes to James Maddison, who is reportedly tempted by the idea of working under Eddie Howe and playing in the Champions League.
Clearly, having chased the player for 12 months, there must be a feeling Newcastle can get him.
Tielemans, however, may have priced himself out of a move to a Champions League side. Back in April, TEAMtalk claimed the midfielder has asked for a huge contract at Arsenal, who were not keen to give it to him.
With Newcastle not willing to break their wage structure this summer, it’s easy to see why Tielemans has been allowed to join Villa.
