It feels like a long time since Newcastle United beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The Magpies won 4-1 that night, blowing PSG away with a display that put the rest of Europe on notice and left Kylian Mbappe sulking.
It looked like it would be the catalyst for a strong Champions League campaign, but it has been much tougher since then.
Eddie Howe’s side have lost back to back games against Borussia Dortmund. First they were beaten 1-0 at home, then that was followed by a 2-0 loss in Germany.
Those results have left Newcastle’s Champions League hopes hanging by a thread, with the Magpies desperately needing a win in their next game.
That is later this month, when they head to Paris for another date with Mbappe. He has delivered a warning to Newcastle ahead of the game, and pundit Paul Scholes believes it will be where the Magpies’ Champions League campaign fizzles out.

Paul Scholes expects Newcastle to lose against PSG
Speaking on TNT Sports on Wednesday night, Paul Scholes admitted that he thinks Newcastle will lose to PSG later this month and be eliminated from the competition.
“Honestly, I think Newcastle are out,” he said.
“If PSG beat them over their way, which I expect them to do… Newcastle were unlucky last night.
“I think we’ve seen better Dortmund teams, don’t get me wrong. It’s always a difficult place to play. Of course it is.
“And, of course, Joelinton missed that header. That would have give them a real chance. But he missed it.
“I think it’s going to be very difficult for Newcastle, as I say. I think PSG will beat them.”
Big ask for Newcastle to stay in the Champions League
It is hard to disagree with Scholes. Obviously we will keep the faith, but it is difficult to envision Newcastle returning from Paris with three points.
We battered them at St James’ Park, but that was a special that will not be repeated. The crowd was incredible, and it helped culminate in what was a perfect storm of black and white.
But the Parc Des Princes is a different stage, and Newcastle have struggled away from home in Europe so far. The Magpies are yet to score on the road, which is a concern ahead of the game against PSG.
It was always going to be tough to advance from this group, and that is proving to be the case. Sadly, it could become the impossible task if we lose in the French capital on November 28th.
