Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has been given a triple injury boost ahead of Saturday night’s game against Arsenal.
The Gunners will be out for revenge after what happened at St James’ Park, and are massive favourites for the game given both sides’ current form.
But Eddie Howe is set to have a significantly stronger squad for the trip to the Emirates Stadium, while an injury scare to Fabian Schar last weekend is not going to result in him missing any minutes.
The Swiss centre-back hurt his wrist against Bournemouth and left the pitch in a sling, but has trained this week ahead of the game against Arsenal.
He is going to be available, and it looks like Alexander Isak and Joe Willock will be too.
Eddie Howe provides positive injury update ahead of Arsenal vs Newcastle
Earlier this week, it was reported that Isak and Willock were back in training as Newcastle prepare to face Arsenal.
Now Eddie Howe has confirmed those reports, and has admitted that they have both made good progress in training ahead of their returns from injury.
“They have trained this week, it has been good to see them back on the grass,” he said, as reported by Newcastle United on X.
“It has been a long time for Joe, he is a huge player for us. We are pleased for him to be back amongst the group, he is a very popular member of the squad.
“Alex is an important player for us too, we have one more training session today – we won’t take any risks – but we are pleased with their progress.”

Isak and Willock being back is great news for Newcastle
Finally some positive injury news for Newcastle! It is great that Schar is not going to miss any games, but the biggest reason for celebration is Isak and Willock being back.
It means we will actually have a striker against Arsenal, after Anthony Gordon was forced to play through the middle last weekend.
As for Willock, he is finally back after an agonising injury layoff. He has missed so much football this season due to an Achilles problem, but it looks like it is behind him now.
It is going to be great to see the 24-year-old in action on Saturday night, and he will be eager to make up for lost time.
