Newcastle United are trying to find a new club for Miguel Almiron during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old appears destined to leave St James’ Park, with Newcastle United needing to sell before they buy due to PSR.

Miguel Almiron is one of the leading candidates to depart, but remains on Tyneside as we approach the halfway stage of the transfer window.

Eddie Howe is willing to let Almiron leave, but the Paraguay international has so far been unable to find a new employer. There has been plenty of interest in the winger, with clubs in the MLS keen to bring Almiron back to the United States.

However, a deal is yet to come to fruition due to financial reasons.

How Newcastle United feel about Miguel Almiron leaving

While Newcastle United are yet to receive an acceptable offer, there is still a belief that Almiron will leave the club during the next few weeks.

According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United are becoming more confident internally that they will be able to move Almiron on during the January transfer window.

However, there may need to be a financial compromise. That is because the Telegraph state that no club has shown any willingness to meet the Magpies’ £12million asking price for Almiron. Meanwhile, the player’s wage demands have also proven to be an issue.

Newcastle must find Almiron compromise

While there is an issue financially, it is at least encouraging that Newcastle United feel like they are going to reach an agreement with a new club for Almiron.

It is time for Almiron to leave, with the former club record signing failing to prove why he should stay at St James’ Park with his performance against Bromley on Sunday.

That was Almiron’s fourth start of the season. Eddie Howe has barely used the attacker, and there is now clearly an appreciation that Newcastle United can cope without him.

That is perhaps why Newcastle are growing in confidence, despite knowing that they may have to compromise financially.

There is plenty of interest out there, and Toon fans will hope that Almiron’s exit can lead to a new signing. However, reinforcements cannot be guaranteed.
