Newcastle United have been dominant over the last few weeks, scoring goals for fun on their way to Champions League qualification.
The Magpies have scored 12 goals in their last three games along as they continue to ride the wave of momentum following their historic Carabao Cup win.
Newcastle United moved up to third in the Premier League table after a dominant win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, ensuring they are frontrunners for Champions League qualification.
Jacob Murphy showed his class again during Newcastle’s win, scoring a sensational opener before providing the assist for Fabian Schar’s first-half stoppage-time goal. Alan Shearer praised Murphy on social media after the win, calling him ‘outstanding’.
Elsewhere, Newcastle fans credited Sandro Tonali for his efforts against Palace. The Italian has looked unstoppable in the last few games, causing supporters to question whether he is the best midfielder in the club’s history.
While those Newcastle stars have been taking the headlines in recent weeks, Clinton Morrison was quick to heap praise on one player who he admitted is his favourite football player.

Clinton Morrison praises Alexander Isak after Newcastle United win
Alexander Isak has been simply sensational this season, scoring goals left, right and centre for the Magpies.
The Swede has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, recently adding to his tally during Newcastle’s win against Crystal Palace. Before Wednesday, Isak had been frustrated with his lack of goals, having gone the previous two games without finding the back of the net.
However, he made up for it with a magnificent goal from distance to give Newcastle their fifth goal of the night.

For Morrison, that was Newcastle’s best goal of the night, and he made that clear with a brilliant assessment on Isak, where he confirmed that the Magpies’ star striker was his current favourite player.
“He is my favourite player in world football at the moment,” Morrison said to Premier League Productions.
“Centre-forward, he’s the best. All round what he can do that is a fantastic finish. I know he’s not been scoring recently. That (goal vs Crystal Palace) doesn’t show he hasn’t been scoring recently. That shows how good a striker he is.
“That was the most difficult chance all evening, and he made it look so easy. He’s brilliant, he’s got so much talent to be fair. A lot of people said he hasn’t been at the races because he’s played a lot of football and had a few injuries, but I think he’s a fantastic striker – he’s got everything.
“That’s why I want Newcastle to finish in the Champions League. If they do, I think they’ll keep hold of Isak.”
Newcastle United are close to meeting Alexander Isak’s demands
This season has been truly unforgettable for the Magpies. A cup win and a potential top-four finish to boot.
Newcastle have six games left in the season, but there is confidence they will return to the Champions League after missing out on Europe at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
After his brilliant form over the last two seasons, Newcastle want to give Isak a new deal. However, the Swede has some demands of his own before signing.
Isak wants Newcastle in the Champions League next season. He believes that it is possible and is willing to stay if the Magpies return to Europe’s premier competition.
In addition to the Champions League demand, Isak will be due a big pay rise at Newcastle. One that would make him the club’s highest earner ahead of Bruno Guimaraes.
